On July 31st, the foundation donated a Cosco Scenera to Melinda Anderson for her son. Her local resources no longer offer a car seat donation program beyond infant seats and so she turned to the foundation for help. We were glad to be able to help Melinda out despite this being outside the foundation's focus of extended harnessing. We encouraged Melinda to keep her son rear-facing for as long as possible.
Many thanks to Wendy Potter, CPST for her time and expertise in installing and educating the family on correct installation and usage of this seat.
Melinda talks about her experience:
"I’m so sorry it’s taken me so long to reply. I’ve recently started back at College and am majoring in police science. I’m still working 20+ hours a week and attending college full time. I took a look at the picture on the website and I think it looks great. Thank you so much for donating the car seat. Without you all at the Kyle David Miller Foundation I would have spent an entire check or two buying a five point harness car seat. Little kids are VERY expensive and my money is very important to our wellness. It’s hard for people that share my financial situation to get safe car seats because they much more expensive. Thank you so very much. You guys are a blessing.
With MANY Thanks,
Melinda Anderson"
