First, my heart goes out to you for your tremendous loss. You have endured and changed the world, for the better of all children. Kyle will never be forgotten. I have joined the ranks of those who have changed the way we secure our children. My 6 1/2 yo daughter is back in a five point (Britax Regent) and when we pulled our 3 yo son's five point out to move it over, we noticed it was near it's expiration date. So we ordered him a Regent as well. If he had been slightly lighter, I would have put him rear facing again as they now have rear facing convertible car seats up to 35 lbs. Prior to seeing Kyle's video, and doing numerous hours of online research, I purchased car seats based on Consumer Reports. What a huge mistake! I am asking my children's pediatrician to start a car seat safety program based on the AAP guidelines, complete with information of available seats that go up to higher weight limits, the same way they advise parents about crib safety for newborn infants.
