The Genzer family applied to the foundation for their two older daughters. Since their middle daughter is below 40lbs, we were able to find a local CPS station that would not only help with the installation and instruction on how to properly use the car seat the foundation donate, but also to donate a car seat for their middle daugther which goes to 40lbs. Their infant seat was also checked for correct installation - now a family of three children are all being kept safe on the roads. Here is what the family and the CPS technician had to say about their experience:
"I would like to thank the Kyle David Miller Foundation from the bottom of my heart for our new car seats. As a single mom, it's hard to provide the seats my children need on my own. My 6 yr old was only seated in a seat belt because I thought she was tall enough to sit on her own. I had no idea she still needed at least a booster even at her height. [Our Eldest daughter] loves her seat, and even made the comment that is was really comfortable and she could take naps in it! I would also like to thank the Child Passenger Dept. for the donation of [our middle daughter]'s seat as well. We were using a borrowed seat, and it's a fabulous feeling knowing my children are traveling safe now. My infant was also tested and her belt fixed by the Child Passenger Dept. Beverly and Myrna couldn't have been nicer! They were super sweet to work with!
Thank you again.. for making 3 children safer on the roads that have become so dangerous to travel on.
Sincerely,
Michelle Genzer"
Bev Kellner - CPS Technician - talks about her experience:
“It was a pleasure to meet Michelle Genzer today and assist her with the installation of the Radian80 for [her eldest daughter]. We also helped her with her infant seat for her newborn and provided a combination seat for [their] 3 year old. [Their eldest daughter]'s shoulders were above the top slots on the Radian, but according to the revised instructions this is allowable. She was in the correct height limit and her ears were not above the top of the seat. She still has some growing room in this seat.
Michelle was eager to learn and very appreciative of the education she received today. Her children were beautifully behaved and the inspections went very well.
Thanks,
Bev”
